Walking and stopping...

Savoring the season

Wary of the coming winter
of body and soul,
Daily walks along
the trails near home.

Eyes attentive,
Observing the passing
interplay of subject and light.

And stopping.
Time captured,
delayed for a moment.

The dreaded dead
fast approaching.
Eclipsed light
Lengthened night.

Following the path
to glorious Spring
