Symbol of warmth and friendship...

This candle is actually a bar of red wax about three inches square nearly a foot long. On the top, or what might be considered the long side there are four wicks.

When Lin lit them at Charter Hall during our New Year's weekend, the wick on the left refused to stay lit. Later at the cottage, she played with it, as she is want to do, and managed to get it burning.

The wax from that one flowed over to the lower melted out area of the number three wick and left the heart shaped design of solidified wax, which is what caught my eye early this morning...subtle contours on a sea of textured red.

It seemed an appropriate image given the temperature outside was a very cold 10 degrees. It had turned the river into a frozen tundra, full of designs sure to pique the interest of a visual artist. More about that to follow...
