evening_shadowed_begonia.jpg

When the sun is setting, the window of opportunity is limited. So last evening when I noticed the sunlight moving across the backs of these angel wing begonia leaves, I knew there was no time to waste if I was to capture the effect.

Every time I look at angel wing begonias I remember when I was a child how my Mother so tenderly raised them, and I also remember who gave these to me while on a video production trip to Missoula, Montana. What a lovely evening was spent with Susie Risho and her husband...a delightful meal followed by singing songs of old around the table.

Seeing these particular begonias on her front porch steps brought back a flood of memories, and she must have noticed since she insisted that I take some home with me on the plane.

Susie, if you could only see them now...
