Late blooming fuchsia...

The surprise was a pleasant one. To peer out the window and discover spots of bold color brightening the dreary gray day foretelling coming winter.

Two days later the killing frost came. Another season has passed. And now we wait for spring. For some it comes not nearly soon enough. The rest of us endure for the lessons to be learned. If it were not for the cold gray winter, would we appreciate spring nearly as much?

And like the rainbow, these fuchsia hold forth a promise...
