Rhododendron-reconstruct.jpg

Spring distractions...

One of them yesterday was the flowers on the Rhododendron bushes at the corner of the gross daudy mower shed. I love their bloom structure with the stamens seemingly bowed in worship of the strongly patterned background petal. Accentuated by the stigma in repose, the purple colored delicated petals with the twisted edges, like Mom used to do her pie dough around the plate edge, create an inviting package.

Not that I can or wish to reinvent Mother Nature's work of art, but I did reconstitute it to accentuate the effect. The effect may seem subtle but sometimes that is all that's need. After all we are talking about two dimensions attempting to represent three.

So along with me, be distracted!
