I have begun reading a book that confirms the value of my desire for conversation. Friends had recommended it and we will discuss it during our New Year's annual sharing about life ahead of us. Blessed am I to have lifelong friends like them. Long live the Big Chill group!

I knew I would find the book affirming when I opened it and read this quote from poet Rainer Maria Rilke:

"You must give birth to your images.
They are the future waiting to be born.
Fear not the strangeness you feel.
The future must enter you
long before it happens.
Just wait for the birth,
for the hour of new clarity.

p.s. this may be my last image of nasturtiums for this year. i was surprised to find them at the cottage last weekend. without the raindrops i may not have taken notice of them.
