Fruit on a counter by a window

The bowl contains the colorful circles within its own circle. Shape upon shape within shapes. Emerging together, merging together.

The light's right. The colors contrast nicely. Even the negative spaces work.

So all that's left to do is capture the scene before me.

Of course, it's never quite that simple. There remains the blending, layering circle upon circle in levels of ramped transparency until it seems to flow together.

Only then can one smile with satisfaction at having created something greater than its individual parts.

Only then does one nod with realization that one is greater for being part of the whole.
